Welcome to Highlands Ranch Public Safety Training Institute
In the late 1990's the Arapahoe and Douglas County Sheriff's created a P.O.S.T. Basic Law Enforcement Academy to meet the needs of their agencies and produce top quality candidate for police and sheriff's departments in Colorado. Since the graduation of their first class in 1998 a total of 54 classes and over 1000 cadets have attended H.R.P.S.T.I.
The Academy is located off Highway 85 south of Littleton, Colorado on 117 Acres.
The Facility is run by a non-profit Foundation of which the Foundation Board of Directors is made up of current and retired personnel from the two Sheriff's Offices, business persons and local citizens. The current Academy Director is employed by Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
The Basic Academy is currently not being run at this time, but we are conducting REFRESHER ACADEMIES.
The next REFRESHER ACADEMY is planned for September 16 - October 3, 2013.
